Parole Programme is a programme initiated to reduce the number of offenders and to reintegrate rehabilitated offenders to the society. The Programme is:
- Extended to eligible
- inmates who pass a certain criteria
- Prerequisite of compliance to certain conditions within a certain period upon their release
This supervision protects and benefits the wider community by:
- Reducing the risk that offenders will commit further offences when released into the community.
- Supports the reintegration of rehabilitated offenders into the community.
Eligible prisoners are screened and vetted by the Parole Board, which is formed of members representing the law enforcement and various fields including independent civic societies.
Parolees who violate their parole conditions will be returned back to prison to serve out their sentences at prison.
